Before You Select a Machine
Questions Injection Moulding Machine Buyers Ask Us
The answers our engineers give most often, before a specification is agreed.
Have a Component, Mould or Production Target?
Share your application details and let Pratishna recommend the right machine, configuration and production approach.
Request a Machine RecommendationWhich Pratishna injection moulding machine is suitable for my product?
It depends on your component size, finished weight, plastic material, mould dimensions, number of cavities and required daily output. Horizontal machines suit high-volume general moulding; vertical machines suit insert moulding and overmoulding; PET machines are developed for preforms; two-platen machines accommodate larger moulds; and hybrid machines suit applications needing tighter shot control. Share your component drawing or sample, and our team will recommend the appropriate machine configuration. What information should I send to get the right machine quotation?
Send us the component drawing or photograph, finished part weight, plastic material, mould dimensions, number of cavities, runner weight, expected production per hour or day, available electrical supply and any automation requirement. If the mould already exists, also share its technical details. This allows us to quote a suitable machine instead of recommending one based only on tonnage. Can Pratishna check whether my existing mould will fit its machine?
Yes. Our engineering team can review the mould length, width, height, weight, tie-bar clearance, daylight, opening stroke, ejector requirement and locating arrangement. We will then confirm whether the mould is compatible with a standard machine or requires a modified platen, extra daylight or another customised feature. What plastic materials can Pratishna machines process?
Depending on the selected machine, Pratishna machines can process common and engineering plastics including PP, PE, PS, PET, ABS, PC, PVC, Nylon, Delrin/POM, PMMA, PBT and selected filled or composite materials. Tell us the exact material grade, filler percentage and processing temperature so the screw, barrel and heating arrangement can be selected correctly. How do I calculate the tonnage and shot capacity required for my component?
Machine selection should not be based on component weight alone. The projected moulding area, material pressure, number of cavities, runner weight, shot volume, mould size and safety margin must all be considered. Pratishna reviews these details before recommending clamping force, injection capacity and screw size. Can Pratishna customise a machine for a specific component or production process?
Yes. Machines can be configured around the component, mould, material and production method. Depending on technical feasibility, customisation may cover clamping force, shot capacity, platen size, tie-bar distance, daylight, injection pressure, sliding stations, control systems and automation interfaces. Send us your requirement at the project stage so it can be engineered into the machine correctly.Does Pratishna provide installation and operator training?
Yes. Support can include installation assistance, machine commissioning, basic operator training, process-setting guidance and maintenance instructions. Before ordering, confirm the installation location, utility availability, foundation requirements and the number of operators who require training. Why is an injection moulding machine price not shown as one fixed amount?
The final price changes with clamping force, shot capacity, screw and barrel selection, platen dimensions, control system, servo configuration, safety features, automation and custom engineering. A technically correct quotation protects you from buying an undersized machine or paying for capacity your application does not require.
